Covid-19 Updates

Please note that whilst the vast majority of orders should be unaffected, the couriers we partner with cannot guarantee all deliveries will arrive on time, due to increased demand and reduced capacity due to social-distancing and staff absence as a result of Covid-19.

Delivery Methods

Most of our deliveries are made by TNT and somebody must be available to sign for goods on weekdays between 08:00 and 18:30.

Shipping Policy

Orders are shipped Monday to Friday, excluding UK public holidays.

UK orders

Mainland UK orders received before 1pm will be delivered the next working day.

Other UK (Highlands & Islands) and Ireland orders received before 1pm will be despatched the same working day and delivered within 2-4 working days.

For special deliveries (such as timed next day or Saturday deliveries), please contact us to discuss possibilities and costs.

Republic of Ireland orders

Orders to addresses in the Republic of Ireland may take 5-7 days to arrive so please allow for this when placing your order.

International Orders

For international orders, timing and costs are available on request and depend on location and export regulations. Matthew Algie cannot be held responsible for loss of revenue resulting from late or delayed orders.

It is our policy to carry a large quantity of stock for most items. However, due to unforeseen circumstances we may from time to time, be out of stock of your desired item(s). In this event, we will advise you as soon as possible and give you an approximate delivery date of your order balance.

Cancellations or Returns

Once an order has been submitted online we are unable to cancel or change it. Typically, you will have to cancel your order within 24hours to prevent it being despatched, however, please call us and we'll do our best to assist you with any queries.

If you wish to return an item, please contact us by phone on (0)141 420 2422 or email us with full details of the items you wish to return, including the order number.

We are unable to accept returns for any opened cases of food products.
Other items may be returned in original undamaged packaging and must be deemed to be suitable for re-sale before credit is awarded. All returns are subject to a re-stocking charge of 10% of the item(s) value or £10 (€15) whichever is greater. No returns will be accepted after 30 days from shipment. The shipping costs of returned items are the responsibility of the purchaser.

If any goods are found to be defective on delivery we will gladly replace at our expense. Customers must inform Matthew Algie of any damage on the same day of receiving the order. Please sign for goods as damaged on receipt if there is evidence of damage to outer packaging. Specific details of damage and consignment note number together with order reference number are required. This does not affect your statutory rights.
