What is the Best Decaffeination Method?
There are several decaffeination methods available today. Some use chemicals that strip the caffeine from the beans. We prefer the more natural CO2 method which avoids the use of harmful chemicals. CO2 is heated and pressurised above its critical point, to extract caffeine, circumventing the use of other solvents and their possible effects entirely.
Why Might Your Customers Choose Decaf Coffee?
Only a small percentage of customers may need decaf pods, but they choose decaf for good reasons. Some people still crave coffee but are cutting out caffeine. Often, pregnant women decide to avoid caffeine temporarily while expecting. Some customers choose decaf coffee late in the day in order to avoid disrupting their sleep cycles. Certainly, you should consider decaf coffee as an important option to offer to your customers, employees, or guests.
What format does decaf coffee come in?
In terms of espresso coffee, our decaffeinated
coffee beans are great if you can be sure of a high demand while beans are
still fresh – and if you have a spare hopper in which to grind them. For less frequent requests or those with
inadequate grinder capacity, you may find that our decaf coffee pods fit the bill. Each individually wrapped, they are simply
opened as required then placed in the portafilter in place of ground coffee.
What could be simpler?
As for filter coffee, again we offer decaffeinated filter coffee beans, perfect for bulk brew and pourover machines. For smaller volumes, our one-cup filters include a decaf option, perfect for offices, conference facilities and hotel bedrooms. And last but not least, our decaffeinated instant coffee sticks give you instant Fairtrade coffee without any equipment whatsoever – an office or hotel bedroom staple.
